Full Disclosure: Exposing Church Planting Blind Spots

Many of you have received one of my new books on church planting called, Full Disclosure: Exposing Church Planting Blind Spots. If not, you can buy it here - or from me personally as I have a box at the house.

I thought I'd give you a little update on the sales. 5,000 copies were printed and over 2,000 are already sold. It just came out in April so it's been just over 1/2 a year. That's pretty cool for the small but respected publisher, ChurchSmart Resources. I think it's in their Top 5 sales of all their books.

It would be pretty cool to go into a 2nd printing... and who knows - maybe even with a different publisher with a 'wider net' - so-to-speak. Just thought you might like an update.

What is a Legacy Church?

Dr. Stephen Gray, the guy I wrote my first book with, came out with another book this year that is turning the church upside down (in a good way). It's called, "Legacy Churches" and the response has been off the chart with everyone clamouring for a piece of the pie.

I think he sorta 'accidently' stumbled upon this great idea... but it has now become something way bigger than he could have ever have imagined. It's a great, short read and I highly recommend it. There are literally thousands of churches that not only need to read this, but to implement it as well.

The kingdom will be greater because of this book.

My First Signing - "Full Disclosure: Exposing Church Planting Blind Spots"

I realize you could be getting a bit tired of me mentioning the new book. I'd apologize about it but I'm too excited to really be that concerned right now. Can you give me that?

While in Orlando for the Exponential '09 Conference, Stadia: New Church Strategies held a very nice dinner for all Stadia planters, wives, and friends of Stadia. It was at this dinner that I had my 'first signing.' This picture is of Chris & Jen Jones from Kentucky.

Honestly, I think the whole signing thing is a bit silly. I mean... c'mon, it's just me. Most of you know me. I'm no different than I was yesterday. (Rest assured, no one was asking for my autographyesterday.) It's all in fun and God gets the credit. After all, it's His book and I'm looking forward to seeing how He decides to use it.

Trust me, there are numerous church planters, church planting boards, and future church planters who desperately need to read what's been written in this book. I hope it gets in their hands and that lives are changed because of it.

My first sale of "Full Disclosure: Exposing Church Planting Blind Spots"

This is Graydon Jessup, newly hired Stadia International employee. He bought my first book, "Full Disclosure: Exposing Church Planting Blind Spots." I am going to have that $20 bill framed.

You might think that is silly. I kinda do too. But then again... let's just ponder about the power of God and blessing of God for a moment. What if... what if... what if God chose to bless this book? And the next two books that are already in process? What if one of them became a best seller? What if one of them was the next "Purpose Driven Life?"

I think it would be cool to show my kids and grandkids the first $20 bill received from my first book. I'd then tell him that dreams can come true. I'd tell him to never give up on those dreams. I'd tell him that God's power is infinite and anything is possible in Christ.

Come to think of it... that's what I'd tell you too!

My New Book - FULL DISCLOSURE - Is Finally Out

I cannot believe this but it is finally true... my first published book is out right now. WOO HOO!

It's called "Full Discosure: Exposing Church Planting Blind Spots" and was co-written with Dr. Stephen Gray, Director of the General Baptist National Missions.

You should be able to pick it up at Amazon.com but you can also buy it directly from me. I'll have some available at Impact Community Church and will be shipping them from my 'warehouse' in Elk Grove, CA. (that would be my garage)

The cost is $12... and for those of you who live out of driving distance of Impact - like Indiana - I will charge just $1.00 for shipping, packaging and handling.

And just so you know, ALL PROCEEDS go to help victims of Katrina... ummm... and just to be clear - that's not the Hurricane Katrina victims... I actually named my retirement account "Katrina"... so you can figure out who the victims are. :)
