Global Warming - YOU are at fault

Here it is folks. In the cheesiest short video ever - you will be amazed at how awful you SHOULD feel because of YOUR part in the global warming fiasco. Straighten up global inhabitants. The 6 billion of us should be ashamed. (sarcasm intended)

    Watch this video.

Now, before you get all upset - I DO think we need to take care of our environment. We need to subdue it. Populate it. Care for it. Watch over it. But I do NOT agree that WE are the primary fault for what's happening. And putting all kinds of unreasonable restrictions and progress-limiting requirements on our already floundering economy is only going to exacerbate the problem. I'm just sayin'.

    Global Temperature Continues To Decline

I suppose someone might label me as anti-green. But I don't think that's the case by a long shot. I recycle. I pick up trash that other slackers leave lying around in our community. I care about our water & air quality. I really do.

We shouldn't just be good stewards of this earth - we should be GREAT stewards. Where possible, we should conserve energy and teach our children the importance of caring for and taking care of earth.

But I cannot stand the idea that WE are a problem. That HUMAN BEINGS are putting out too much CO2 by just 'existing.' That somehow, if we could rid the earth of more humans, "Mother Earth" would be better off. Ummm - mother earth was created for us... not US for mother earth. There is a misfiring theology present in some well-meaning people that is causing an unnecessary financial burden on all of us... beginning with the poorest.

Here is one of the latest articles from www.WeGetIt.org- enjoy the facts! Particularly, take a look at the chart below. Pretty interesting in light of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth."

    Global temperature continues to decline

Contrary to all the expectations of global warming alarmists and the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, global average temperature is in significant decline. The graph below, produced by Drs. Roy W. Spencer and John Christy of the University of Alabama using data from the NASA Aqua satellite with near-constant readings at all levels of the atmosphere between latitudes 84S and 84N, shows running averages in the smoothed line from January, 1979, through April, 2009, with a clear downtrend starting around late 2004, with the end point a mere 0.09 degree C (0.16 degree F) above the mean for the whole period.

Warming alarmists will protest that four-and-a-half-years are too short to establish a long-term trend. True enough. But they didn't hesitate to claim a trend in 1988 based on under two years' data, and for that matter, in a climate system as old as Earth's, thirty or even a hundred years aren't statistically representative enough to establish a trend.

Spencer, a former NASA scientist and enthusiastic supporter of the WeGetIt.org campaign, posts monthly updates at www.DrRoySpencer.com, an excellent site for scientific information on global climate change.

    Global Lukewarming...

I haven't jumped on a soapbox in quite a while. Now seems like as good of time as any. Check out this video - it's less than 3 minutes and well worth your time.

If you don't see the video - click here!

I am still blown away that TV & Media has not jumped all over this. Why has Al Gore not been pummeled with this news? Why doesn't someone offer to take back his Nobel Peace Prize?

I realize this 'issue' is near and dear to many of your hearts. But once again, these drastic measures that Obama and other well-meaning 'green' proponents are going to affect (hurt) the American people... mainly lower income families. You can You can read more specifics at The Tax Foundation website.

Here is the article from WeGetIt.org - a summary of the Tax Foundation article.

    Let them eat cake

If the U.S. government adopts a cap-and-trade program to reduce CO2 emissions to fight global warming, it'll cost the average U.S. household $1,218 per year--or the whole nation $144.8 billion per year.

That's the conclusion of a new report by the Tax Foundation, which explains that the burden would fall disproportionately on "low-income households, those under age 25 and over 75, residents of southern states, and single parents with dependent children." For those in the bottom fifth of income earners, the hit would equal about 6.2% of their household income; for those in the top fifth, about 1.4%.

That makes cap-and-trade a highly regressive tax.

    Global Warming Prophecy

OK - so after calling Oprah Winfrey a false prophet and leader of a cult... I'm going to take a stab at prophecy myself. You ready? Here it is.

I predict that soon (relatively soon), we are going to see a consistent cooling trend of global temperatures. That's right. The average temperature of the world will go DOWN! And when that happens, what will you do? What will you believe?

Seriously! We have been taught (brain-washed) that WE are the cause of global warming. We are ALL irresponsible, pathetic human beings who are polluting mother earth. We should all be ashamed of ourselves and DO something to stop global warming. We should join the worship of our earth.

However, I don't believe that is the case. I don't think humans have a SIGNIFICANT factor to play in the whole global warming fiasco. There are too many other stats to factor into the picture.

So, once again, if my prophecy is correct - WHAT WILL YOU DO?What will you believe? What will happen to all of the incessant programs and limitations that government is putting on America? Will you be more comfortable in getting an SUV? Will you stop worrying so much about human beings being so BAD?

My biggest question to all the 'green-heads'... will you admit you're wrong?

You can't justpick up your marbles and go play somewhere else. These are our marbles. In fact, why don't you just leave your marbles here and go play somewhere else. I'm sure you'll find some other governmental, bureaucratic cause to waste our tax payer money and cost Americans jobs while hurting the poor.

    Global Warming Myths

Once again, I cannot help but be blown away by the consensus that global warming is all man's fault. If we can just get mankind to stop being so selfish, mother earth would be all better. Hogwash. We've been duped - all of us. And it stinks. Here is another article about the MYTHS of global warming. As you read, remember, they are MYTHS! Taken from http://www.WeGetIt.org

Top 8 myths of global warming dogma

Quick! Your neighbor is a true believer in manmade, catastrophic global warming. He points to the overwhelming scientific consensus and the work of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and asks why you’re not urging your Congressman to back legislation to cut carbon dioxide emissions.

What can you say? Where can you turn for quick information to help him reconsider?

A new paper by the Science and Public Policy Institute by climate data analyst John McLean, Fallacies About Global Warming, would be a good start. It points out eight assumptions about global warming, all of which are false:

    1. Scientists have accurate historical temperature data.
    2. Temperature trends are meaningful and can be extrapolated.
    3. The accuracy of climate models can be determined from their output.
    4. The consensus among scientists is decisive (or even important).
    5. The dominance of scientific papers on a certain subject establishes a truth.
    6. Peer-reviewed papers are true and accurate.
    7. The IPCC is a reliable authority and its reports are both correct and widely endorsed by all scientists.
    8. It has been proven that human emissions of carbon dioxide have caused global warming.

McLean provides convincing evidences against every one of those claims--and as a result the whole case for action to prevent global warming implodes.

Another great source to debunk fears of manmade warming is this handbook.

Offshore Drilling Can Reduce Oil Pollution

I follow a website that is fairly counter-cultural when it comes to Global Warming.  Don't get me wrong, they are strong on protecting and preserving our environment.  I would consider them VERY green.  But they don't conform to the insane, idiotic thinking of our day.  I like their thinking!  Here is a short article they posted this week.

About 42,000 gallons of oil a day go into the ocean in the Santa Barbara channel off the California coast, often resulting in dirty, ugly globs of oil on the beaches.

Evidence that offshore drilling causes pollution? No. Not according to University of California geophysics Professor Bruce Luyendyk, who recently explained to Santa Barbara residents--many of whom remember the horrendous Union Oil rig spill in 1969 that spilled 100,000 barrels into the sea, provoking outrage that launched the first Earth Day--that the oil seeps up naturally through the floor of the ocean.

The seeps can't be stopped, but the rate of seepage could be slowed. How? By pumping the oil from the ocean floor, reducing pressure and thus slowing the seepage .

The same goes for natural gas, about 3 million cubic feet per day of which seep through the ocean floor--enough to serve 10,000 homes.

A new organization, SOS California (Stop Oil Seeps), is calling for more drilling to stop the waste and pollution from oil and gas seepage.

The same geological principles operate worldwide, though offshore seepage rates vary. That makes pollution prevention and resource waste reduction additional arguments--along with making energy more affordable--for increased offshore drilling.

    Global Warming Quandary

Ok - so we all know global warming is a hot button in America and... well... globally.  I taught a messaged called, "Is God Green?" that you can view here.  One of the main concepts I hammered is that mankind is not the primary cause of global warming.  In fact, if you want to blame something, blame the sun... or the soil... or the seas.  You would be better to blame shifting wind patterns for much of the so-called melting ice caps.

I came across this article that sure puts a question on who/what is to blame for global warming.  Don't shoot the messenger.  Happy reading.  This article can be found at here - it is the Wednesday, Sept 3 newsletter.  Might we see a global cooling in the next 5-10 years?  What would the extreme environmentalists do?

Quiet Sun may spell global cooling

For the first time in nearly 100 years an entire month has gone by without the sighting of a single sunspot. That could turn out highly significant for Earth's temperature.  Why?

Because sunspots correlate with both solar energy emission and solar magnetism. (click here for detailed info)  Solar energy affects Earth temperature directly. Solar magnetism affects it indirectly by affecting how much cosmic radiation enters Earth's atmosphere, which affects low-level cloudiness. Decreasing solar magnetism leads to increasing cloudiness, which leads to decreasing surface temperatures. During the Maunder Minimum (very low sunspot activity about 1645 to 1715), temperatures fell so much the period has come to be called the Little Ice Age.

Thus, as the graph above indicates, solar influence on global climate dwarfs human influence through the emission of carbon dioxide. What the downturn in sunspots portends is global cooling.

This also helps explain why temperatures on Mars and other planets, (click here for an insane amount of info) which lack human influence, have changed in ways similar to changes on Earth.
